The 2021 Lincoln Aviator acts as the stepping stone in between the smaller Nautilus and the full-size Navigator. Its starting price for 2021 is $52,665 for the Standard trim.

There are 4 other trim levels: Reserve, Grand Touring (plug-in hybrid), Black Label, and Black Label Grand Touring. The top-end trim starts at $90,080.

Under the 2021 Aviator’s hood is a powerful 400-hp 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an excellent 10-speed automatic transmission.

Its transmission in particular offers seamless shifting, which helps the Aviator accelerate faster than some of its competition.

The Grand Touring model is a plug-in hybrid, which adds up to 18 miles or so of electric-only range, but one issue in electric mode is sluggish acceleration owing to the sheer size of the Aviator.

Under conventional V6 engines, it can achieve 18-mpg in the city, and 26-mpg on the highway --- 17-mpg and 24-mpg respectively for the AWD model --- with the hybrid model achieving a combined 25-mpg in most recognized tests.

The interior is available in either a 6-seat or 7-seat layout. The third row includes 2 seats, and the second row can be either 2 captain’s chairs or a bench seat for 3 people.

Opting for captain’s seats means you get your choice of a center console to put in the gap.

Anyone planning a long journey in the 2021 Lincoln Aviator will need the Perfect Position seats that are 30-way power-adjustable and come with a massage function.

On top of that, a 28-speaker Revel Ultima 3D audio system can really make those favorite playlists pop.

Storage is 18 cubic feet with the third row up, but if you fold those down you can get up to 77 cubic feet with all the seats down.

Practicality also comes with safety, as the 2021 Aviator received 5 stars from the NHTSA for its overall safety rating.
