Originally the Venza nameplate was used on a Camry-based mid-size crossover SUV that was built in and sold in the USA.

In the mid-size crossover SUV market, you will find already established model lines such as the Ford Edge.

This model ran for 7 or so years from 2008 onwards until Toyota discontinued it due to lackluster sales.

Then for the 2021 model year, the Toyota Venza Hybrid was introduced based on the RAV4 platform and available with a hybrid drivetrain only.

All models are built in Japan where a similar car was already being sold as the Harrier, before being exported to North America.

Under the hood is a 2.5-liter gasoline engine transmitting power to the wheels via a CVT and helped out by 2 electric motors, one on the front axle and one on the rear.

To get a better understanding of the hybrid technology inside the 2021 Venza Hybrid you can check out the official owner's manual.

A copy of that manual is embedded on this page in PDF and covers everything you would want to know about the 2021 Venza.

Subjects such as charging and maintenance can be puzzling and new to owners of hybrid-electric cars such as this new Venza, luckily this is covered in the document.
