The 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer in its current form is a subcompact crossover SUV that was recently launched for the 2021 model year.

It does have an older predecessor that some buyers may have heard of, a mid-size SUV sold between 2001 and 2008 in North America.

This newer revival of the nameplate does not feature the same body-on-rails chassis but is unibody and lighter - which it shares with the Buick Encore.

The 2022 model features a competitive price tag starting at just $21,600, and is powered by either a 1.2L or 1.3L inline-3 engine offering up to 154-hp and a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Buyers can choose from 4 models: LS, LT, Activ, and RS, and both FWD and AWD drivetrains are available.

Fuel consumption gets to 29mpg in the city and 34-mpg on the highway making its efficiency very competitive in the crossover class.

Those seeking utility will find a very useful maximum cargo volume of 54.4 cubic feet, allowing it to store a lot of cargo for a relatively small SUV.

An optional hands-free tailgate also makes accessing the space easier when your hands are full.

The 2022 Chevy Trailblazer offers 9 exterior color options, some in two-tone colors, as well as 2 interior color schemes.

Each trim level has different offerings. The Activ trim, for example, is geared more toward off-road driving with its specially tuned suspension and the presence of a front skid plate.

An RS version boasts sleeker, more athletic looks with black machined aluminum wheels and dual exhaust tips that cater to those wanting something sportier and more stylish.

On the road, drivers can choose from three different drive modes in all: Normal, AWD/Snow and Sport. The “Snow” mode is the FWD equivalent of AWD, adding better traction in winter weather.

Other features include LED taillamps, heated steering wheels, available 18-inch high-gloss black aluminum wheels, heated power-adjustable mirrors, available wireless device charging, and much more.
