The Kia Soul has been a big mainstay in Kia’s eclectic and growing range. This 2022 Kia Soul is part of the third generation originally launched back in 2019.

There aren’t many major changes for 2022, but some styling and technology changes do bring the Soul fully up to date.

The 2022 Kia Soul is offered in 6 different trim levels: LX, S, GT-Line, X-Line, EX, and Turbo. Its base level starts at just $19,190, making it incredibly competitive and affordable. A top-end Turbo trim also falls well under $30,000 as a starting MSRP.

The base powertrain is a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine paired with a CVT transmission, the one you find on the i20, which shares the same platform underneath. That outputs up to 147-hp.

The Turbo trim offers a unique 1.6L turbocharged engine delivering up to 210-hp and paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This Turbo version can launch from 0 to 60-mph in just 6.4 seconds.

The 2022 Soul’s engine has an EPA fuel consumption rating of 35-mpg on the highway and 27-mpg in the city, making its efficiency almost as competitive as its price point.

The exterior comes in 10 different color options, including 2 two-tone options, with the interior coming in either Black SynTex or other high-quality woven cloths.

No leather is on offer, however. The interior cabin is roomy, and even though the rear seats don’t fold entirely flat, there’s plenty of cargo room at up to 62.1 cubic feet.

Nice interior and technology touches include ambient lighting, keyless entry, heated seats and steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging pad, a 10.3-inch infotainment screen for all trims but the base level (8-inch on base level), and an optional Harman Kardon sound system for the Turbo model.

ADAS features are not standard, but buyers can get forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control as added extras.
