The 2022 model year saw some major changes brought to the Nautilus, mostly to the interior. The mid-size SUV priced at $43,595 MSRP has become a crucial feature in its lineup since Lincoln abandoned sedan cars.

It is built upon the Ford CD4 platform that is used under many other models including the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ.

The 2022 Nautilus received a new piano-key gear shifter, and a totally new dashboard design that is adorned with one of the largest infotainment screens in the segment at 13.2 inches, and operating the new Sync 4 OS from Ford.

There are 3 trims available, the Standard, Reserve and Black Label, the latter two of which are priced at $50,645 and $66,185 respectively. The mid-level trim offers a panoramic sunroof, a premium Revel audio system, heated/ventilated front seats, rain-sensing wipers and 18-inch alloys as standard.

A 2.0L 4-cylinder engine sits under the hood outputting 250-hp, but there is a more powerful 2.7L turbocharged V6 as an optional replacement that gets up to 255-hp. The latter can get from 0 to 60 in just 5.9 seconds. The more powerful engine converts a mostly city-friendly SUV into a both city- and highway-friendly SUV.

The Reserve and Black Label trims also feature additional drive mode settings --- Comfort, Normal and Sport --- to allow the driver to further tailor their drive to suit the road conditions they’re on.

One thing that didn’t change on the interior was the quality of materials, which improve exponentially as you look higher up the trim list. The Black Label model even features a faux suede headliner that’s ultra soft and sumptuous to the touch.

For further comfort, take up the optional 22-way adjustable massaging seats, and if you’re more worried about cargo space, the 2022 Lincoln Nautilus offers 37.2 cubic feet as standard and up to 68.8 cubic feet with the seats down.

Standard ADAS features include automated emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise control and automatic lane-centering are optional.
