The 2022 Suzuki SX4 S-Cross is a subcompact crossover SUV. It differentiates itself from its predecessors, who were subcompact crossovers available as a hatchback or sedan.

It has changed most dramatically in styling going into 2022 (when compared to the 2021 version). What once was a pretty standard-looking car is now exciting to look at, and even has hints of the MKl Qashqai.

Under the hood, the SX4 is equipped with a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine, dubbed the ‘boosterjet’. It packs 128 horsepower, which isn’t going to break any records. In fact, 0-60 will take just under 10 seconds, and you won’t be able to go faster than 118 miles per hour.

There is also a hybrid version, which is similarly modest in terms of power. The use of a turbo causes quite a lot of lag, which can make the car feel sluggish at times. The hybrid is allegedly able to do 53.2 miles per gallon which are very respectable.

The 2022 SX4 S-Cross is made in the Magyar plant in Esztergom, Hungary. This is where the company makes all of its vehicles.

Some common problems with the SX4 include leaking rear axle seals. Many owners report that, after around 80,000 miles, the seals have a tendency to leak, and will need replacing. Another major problem is that the headlights are extremely lackluster, and the bulbs will blow more often than not, thanks to poor build quality. This is a budget car, and sometimes you will get what you pay for. Luckily, bulbs are pretty cheap and easy to fix.

Despite this, the SX4 is extremely good value for money. For £25,000, you’re getting a reliable, economical and stylish SUV that will be easy to drive and maintain. So, if you want a hassle-free car, with minimal running costs, the Suzuki SX4 S-cross may be for you.
