No car brand translates to "SUV" more directly than Jeep. While Jeep owes its root to its off-road legends, built to tackle any environment, they also produce several nameplates like the Jeep Grand Cherokee that cater to a broader audience.

However, despite more graceful looks—yet still evidently macho—than the iconic rugged Wrangler, under the hood, the Jeep Grand Cherokee packs enough trail-ready equipment and off-road capability to tease the route of adventure constantly.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee maintains this ethos, carrying over from last year without any notable changes.

To match its good exterior looks, the Grand Cherokee sports an elegant, modern cabin with a wide range of options. The Grand Cherokee line features a broad range of trims, moving from a spartan model to high-end luxury options, and this variety is reflected in its cabin design.

While base trims like the Laredo stick to providing the essentials, upscale trims like the Overland pack luxurious accessories like open-pore wood finishings, high-end digital displays, and perforated, quilted leather upholstery that are on par with what you get on offerings from Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Porsche

Under the hood, the Grand brings everything you expect from a nameplate under the Jeep brand.

The standard base engine with most  Grand Cherokees is a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces a sufficient 293 horsepower and standard rear-wheel drive with all-wheel drive availability.

On the range-topping Trailhawk trim, you get a more powered plug-in-hybrid system that combines a 2-liter inline-four turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor (and a 14.0-kWh battery pack) that combines to produce an ample 375 HP and 470 pound-feet of torque. This more exuberant hybrid setup is also available as an optional upgrade on the lower Grand Cherokee trims.
