The i30, Hyundai's answer to segment-leading competitors like the Toyota Corolla, Ford Focus, and Volkswagen Golf, is a small family car that Hyundai has produced since 2006.

Like the aforementioned nameplates, the i30 seeks to be the go-to for practicality, safety, efficiency, and reliability, focusing less on providing any excitement with its driving performance. In such a tightly competitive niche, it is impressive that the Hyundai i30 has managed to carve out a name for itself, becoming the most popular Hyundai offering in many markets.

While it is already beset with excessively high demand and production line issues, the 2024 Hyundai i30 retains all of its selling points, bringing them in a refreshed exterior and improved suite of features that is guaranteed to be a hit in all of its form factors.

The new i30 is available in different body styles, such as hatchback, estate, fastback, and sedan. It offers various engine options, including petrol, diesel, and hybrid (hybrid option available for the first time in some markets, including Australia.) Like the previous year’s model, the 2024 i30 will also be available under varying nameplates in some markets, such as the Elantra Touring, Elantra GT, or Avante N123.

The 2024 Hyundai i30 offers three different powertrain options, which may vary in availability depending on the variant and the market.

The first powertrain option features a 2-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine that produces 147.5 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque paired with a continuously variable transmission.

Alternative powertrain options include a 201-HP 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that pairs with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a gasoline-electric hybrid engine that produces a combined 139 horsepower off the back of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a battery pack, and a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
