Toyota’s luxury wing first developed the Lexus NX for the 2015 model year, a compact crossover SUV based on the Toyota RAV4.

The 2022 Lexus NX is the first production model in the second generation, and so is a big and comprehensive redesign for the new year.

It’s set to be released in gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations and a total of 6 trim levels: NX250, NX350h, NX350, NX350 F Sport, NX450h+ and the NX450+ F Sport.

A base-level NX250 will start at $39,025, and the top-level NX450h F Sport will come to $57,975.

There are 4 powertrain options delivering 4-cylinder engines either in 2.5L at 203-hp, 2.4L at 275-hp, a 2.5L with two electric motors hybrid option at 239-hp, and a 302-hp version for the plug-in hybrid.

The mid-level NX350 trim gets the 2.4L 275-hp 4-cylinder engine and can get from 0 to 60mph in just 6.6 seconds; a brisk feat for a luxury SUV in this price range.

All models come either with FWD or AWD as an option or AWD as standard.

The exterior has been given an entirely new platform, boasting a wider stance, new 20-inch wheels, and an overall sleeker, more athletic countenance.

The standard interior features a pleasing level of soft touch and high-quality materials with no cheap plastic in sight. A 2022 Lexus NX also delivers better space in the rear seating area compared to older models.

Adding the Luxury package will deliver a slew of impressive interior features, including quilted leather upholstery, new ambient lighting, the above-mentioned 20-inch wheels, adjustable driver lumbar support, and a mammoth 14-inch infotainment screen.

Inside this NX you will find many similarities with the 2022 Toyota RAV4 that is based on, except with a more "luxurious" finish and premium features as standard.

You can easily connect your smartphone devices with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto both as standard connectivity features. Further, enhance that with a 17-speaker Mark Levinson stereo system and a wireless charging pad.
