The Suzuki Vitara started its story back in the late 1980s when it was first introduced by the Japanese automaker.
Originally the car was classed as a mini-SUV capable of leaving the road and performing well on any terrain.
Then in the late 1990s, the car was uprated to a compact SUV, being slightly larger and still capable of going off-road.
In 2015 the model went through its largest transition yet, moving into the subcompact crossover SUV segment of the auto market.
Now the Vitara was essentially a road-only going car as it lost its heavy drivetrain and instead focused on comfort and safety.
Car buyers in recent years have been flocking to this style of car and Suzuki definitely wanted to take advantage of the change in consumer tastes.
2020 models of the Suzuki Vitara are examples of these crossover SUV-style versions and no boast amazing features such as a collision-avoidance system and a traffic sign recognition system.
It also features the ALLGRIP system that is also fitted to the smaller Ignis range that uses brakes to simulate a limited-slip differential.
