2021 Q5
The Audi Q5 first came onto the scene in 2008 as production of the car began in assembly plants around the world.
Production began in Germany, Russia, China, India and Malaysia as Audi expected there to be a huge demand for the new model.
It was the company's first compact luxury crossover SUV that they built using their MLB platform.
This MLB platform is the same one they have put to use under many of their existing catalog of models including the A5 and the A4 to name a few.
The Q5 was first launched with just one style of design, a basic SUV with 5-doors.
A second generation was introduced in 2017 and then in 2021 came an optional Sportback version, with a sloping roof at the rear.
This 2021 Sportback version had reduced bootstrap and rear headroom for the rear occupants but donned a much sportier image.
2021 also saw a facelift of the Audi Q5 and a massive overhaul of the technologies inside the cabin, adding a new app store-based infotainment system.
