In 2017 the Kia Stonic began production in China and South Korea with export taking place as far as North America.
It is classed as a subcompact crossover SUV built on the same platform as the Soul and Rio models from the same South Korean manufacturer.
In China, it is known as the KX1 and this car sits at the bottom of the company's range of crossover SUVs in terms of size.
Customers can choose from one of four engines ranging from 1 to 1.6-liter in displacement mated to an automatic or manual transmission.
When Euro NCAP tested the standard Stonic in 2017 they awarded it only 3 out of 5 stars, though if you upgrade to the optional safety pack the car rises to a 5-star rating.
