The Land Rover Discovery Sport is a spin-off of the long-established Discovery line that began in 1989.
This version of the car is less focused on offroad capability likes its parent model but more on luxury.
It is classed as a compact luxury crossover SUV and uses the same platform as the Range Rover Evoque and the Jaguar E-Pace.
Originally this Discovery Sport used a Ford platform that was modified from the Mondeo and Galaxy.
In 2019 the Discovery Sport entered into its second generation of design and started using an in-house developed platform from JLR.
This 2021 model of the crossover SUV sits on top of that new PTA platform and can be fitted with a variety of electric, gasoline, diesel and hybrid drivetrains.
For 2021 a new model could be fitted with just one plug-in hybrid option - a 1.5-liter with a battery pack and electric motor that can travel for 33 miles on electricity alone.
Improvements have been made this year to the infotainment system with new camera features that can aid reversing.
You can also view the ground underneath the front of the car (called Ground View) using a camera underneath the car fed into the infotainment system.
Other interior improvements in the 2021 Discovery Sport include improved storage spaces and cup holders in the rear.
