2021 Porsche Cayenne Owner’s Manual

The Porsche Cayenne was the German automaker's first model to be classed as an SUV.

It was launched for the 2003 model year and this 2021 version is an example of the third generation of design.

Originally it was built on the same platform used under the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7.

This 2021 version is built on a much newer more generic platform but still shares it with those models listed above as well as many more.

Style-wise this new Cayenne resembles the 911, a long-established nameplate for Porsche that encapsulates much of what they are about.

Unlike the 911 though this model was the first for the company to have its engine in the front of the car.

It was a bold move by Porsche who had seen financial difficulties in the 1990s and needed to move into the mainstream.

This 2021 Cayenne is now available with the GTS trim that was offered in previous generations.

That GTS version of the car boasts a powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with lowered suspension and performance components.

On the other end of the scale for 2021 Porsche has added an improved plug-in hybrid version of the car with a 20%~ bigger battery.

Alongside the increase in the electricity capacity, the new e-Cayenne is said to capture more lost potential energy from the engine as well.
