2020 Ridgeline
In 2005 Honda started to experiment with the idea of making a pickup truck using a crossover SUV as a donor car.
The idea was that those who wanted a pickup truck to carry around cargo but didn't require the heavy off-road equipment would snap it up.
It succeeded and this 2020 model is an example of the second-generation model that carries on with what worked well in the first.
Originally the Ridgeline was built using the Acura MDX crossover SUV as a donor car but that changed with the introduction of the second-generation to the Honda Pilot.
As standard the pickup truck is a front-wheel-drive vehicle but if you want to upgrade you are able to get a four-wheel-drive chassis at the cost of additional weight.
This is a far cry from the traditional pickup truck layout where the body is mounted to a strong separate (and heavy) rail chassis like the Ford F-150.
This 2020 Honda Ridgeline is packed full of the comfort and safety features that came with the Pilot and so to take full advantage of them it is advised that you read the manual.
