About The Q30

The Infiniti Q30 is a subcompact executive car that is manufactured by Nissan’s luxury division Infiniti. Production began in 2015 with the 2016 model. It was discontinued only three years later with sales concluding in 2019.

It represents the smallest vehicle ever built by the Infiniti division. It also represents a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Renault.

During its time on the market, there was only one generation released by Nissan. It first debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as the Q30 Concept.

As a hatchback, it shares a huge deal of similarities with the Infiniti QX30, the brand’s crossover offering. The most noticeable differences between the models is ride height and drivetrains. This is somewhat unsurprising given the nature of crossovers nowadays.

As a luxury offering, it goes up against various models, particularly from the European sector. These include the MINI Clubman, Volvo V40, Mercedes A-Class, and the BMW 1 Series.

Infiniti released four trim levels: Pure, Luxe, Sport, and Essential. These determined engine size and drivetrains, as well as upholstery.

Powertrains consist of both Renault and Mercedes-Benz engines. The petrol options included two engines, a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-4 and a turbocharged 2-liter inline-4, with two varied power outputs for each. Both of these engines are also found in the Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

Diesel engines consisted of a turbocharged 1.5-liter Renault inline-4 and a turbocharged 2.2-liter Mercedes-Benz inline-4 that came with two varied power outputs.

These engines provide either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with the top engine configurations.

Infiniti discontinued sales of the Q30 as a result of poor numbers and the brand’s withdrawal from the European market.
