About The Mirage

The Mitsubishi Mirage first appeared in the late 1970s when it was used on a subcompact car.

These owner’s manuals are a comprehensive guide to all of the features and controls in your Mirage.

Then when the fifth-generation model was introduced in 1995 the car grew and was reclassified as a compact car, like a Mazda3 for example.

During the 1990s the Mirage was rebadged and sold as the Lancer in some regions of the world before they split apart and went their separate ways in 2003.

Once again the Mirage was changed back to a subcompact in 2012 with the introduction of the sixth-generation model.

This car sells well in countries that have high fuel costs due to importing such as Europe and Thailand.

In recent years the Mirage has pushed over 150,000 sales per year around the world making it an important line for Mitsubishi.

Safety ratings for the most recent version of the car are fantastic, scoring 4 out 4 stars with the only fallback being in the “Child occupant protection” discipline.

Buying a new version of this car you will find it is either a 1 or 1.2-liter engine mated to a CVT or 5-speed manual transmission.

Alongside the choice of engine and transmission is the level of trim, which can be one of either 2, 3, 4, Attivo, Design, First Edition or Juro.

2015 brought about a face-lift for the line that included daytime running LED headlights, engine improvements and an infotainment system upgrade with Apple and Android connectivity.

Then 2019 saw the second facelift for the current generation which added driver-aids such as forward-collision-mitigation and radar sensors.
