2021 SEAT Ibiza Owner’s Manual

The first SEAT Ibiza hit the roads in the mid-1980s and over the next 8 years sold more than a million units.

It proved to be a massive success and helped launch the Spanish automaker thanks to its Italian styling and German-engineered engine.

This car sat in a segment of the market between the supermini (such as the Ford Fiesta) and the small family car (like the Vauxhall/Opel Astra) in terms of size.

In the mid-1990s the second generation Ibiza was launched and this time it was under the eyes of the new owners of the company, Volkswagen.

Now with the might of the German car manufacturer behind them, they used the platform from the popular Polo model.

Over the decades since the Ibiza has remained a popular hatchback and built upon a Volkswagen chassis.

This 2021 model uses the newer MQB platform that many of the parent company's cars are built on including the best-selling Golf and Audi A1.

It is wider and shorter than its predecessor (a common theme for many modern cars) with engines ranging from a 1-liter gasoline to a 1.6-liter turbodiesel.
